Happy New Year and fall colours
First of all I would like to wish everybody a very Happy New Year and hope that the upcoming year will be one full of luck, happiness and good health! Thank you to everybody who comes and read my posts and enjoys my photos, I really appreciate it!
Since I started this photography blog I will share some of my photos with you, but now and then I would like to share some techniques/tips with you as well. I am not a professional whatsoever, so I just kind of learned by doing. I will share the way I take a certain photograph, but there may be different and/or better ways to get the same result. I will try to explain the way I set my camera and what I do to get the effect, etc...
In this post I would like to share some photos that were taken in the fall. Fall colours are always interesting and when there are sunny days the landscapes seem to be even prettier. That might just be my thought though. I enjoy the fall when there are beautiful coloured leaves around and when the mountains get their first dusting of snow...that's a great combination! I really appreciate the amazing scenery that surrounds us here on the West Coast of Canada.
My family from Belgium was visiting around mid-October so we went to some of the touristy places in Vancouver and the surrounding areas and we were able to enjoy some of the beautiful fall colours. Especially when we went to Whistler for a day. The trees were coloured bright and the mountains just had a fresh dusting of snow. Burnaby Mountain Park near Vancouver (and close to our place) is also a great spot for photographing fall colours. I went to Burnaby Mountain after my family left in early November when the fall colours were at its best.
Below here are some photos from the lovely fall colours were enjoyed in October - November 2012 (click on the photo for a larger view):
